Andy Warhol - Ladies & Gentlemen: The creation of an icon

The exhibition "Ladies & Gentlemen: The creation of an icon" was conceived with the intent to testify, on one hand, all the incredible and fascinating story that led to the birth of Drag Queen as a new pop subject on par with celebrities of the '60s like Marilyn Monroe or Liz Taylor, and, on the other hand, with the intent to investigate the “modus operandi” adopted for the realization of the series, the first made by Warhol through the use of his Polaroid Big Shot.

Polaroids, acetates, the entire portfolio on paper and unique works will be featured in the exhibition: all these works symbolizes the fundamental steps of the process of screen-printing with which Warhol upset and revolutionized the entire history of art.
